Some political scientists also participated to this conference by following topics:

Hayk Sukiasyan The German Concept of “Middle Europe” and the First World War

Obviously, the military-political leadership of the Young Turks was influenced by various ideological currents. Proved, for example, that a great influence on it had French positivism. But apparently it is not limited to positivism. Our research led us to the conclusion that the on the eve of the 20th century the German geostrategic thought, especially the concept of “Middle Europe” (Mitteleuropa) impacted the military wing of this elite.
The clarification of this issue has a great importance for ideological understanding of the Armenian genocide and the understanding of its geo-strategic depths.

Levon Shirinyan Balkan Military-Political Fracture of Turkey in 1912-1913 and Western Armenia

In World War I, each participating country had its own motivation. The Ottoman Empire, from the viewpoint of a deep understanding of the prevailing geo-strategic realities around him, which carefully concealed, had its own motivation.
As a result of the Balkan wars, finally thrown out of Europe, and later, the Italo-Turkish War, banished from the Mediterranean region, the Ottoman Empire was trying to find its own center of the strategic balance in Minor Asia and in the Armenian Highlands. This led to the empire’s ambitions to destroy Armenia and Armenians.
Russian reform program and contradictions of major powers on the Turkish issue intensified the formed trend. This is evidenced also the choice of Germany as an ally. The First World War gave the opportunity to do so.
