Today, politological hearings continued at the Pedagogical University; on the initiative of theFaculty of History and Law, Department of Politology and History of Law, the University hosted the Associate Professor of the Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after V.Brusov, Candidate of Political Sciences, and member of the USA Political Sciences Association Mr. Emil Ordukhanyan.

“For three continuous years the representatives of the field of Political Sciences have been participating in politological hearings held at the University. This is a great opportunity to study and analyze practical politology issues”, mentioned the Politologist in his meeting with the students and teaching-professorial team.

The member of the USA Political Sciences Association introduced the report on “Samuel Huntington’s Theory of Political Order; political processes in the RA” bearing in mind that Huntington’s political geniality manifests in preserving its actuality even ten years later. It does not describe only one historical period, but its accurate interpretations and formulas with mathematical accuracy give an opportunity to study the processes existing in a modernized society describing, justifying, and defining development perspectives.

Emil Ordukhanyan analyzed from the perspective of “Huntington theory” the social-political complications in the post-soviet Armenia and observed that the most serious issue in a modernizing society is the social-political instability.

“The transition from a traditional society often leads not towards progress, but to regress; political order may exist without freedom, but there can be no freedom without political order”.

Within the framework of the “Huntington Theory” the reporter also discussed the political institutes, the importance of the government’s legitimacy, the negative social attitude towards the ongoing social reforms, corruption, etc.

During the meeting an active dialogue developed in the course of which the students asked their questions to the Politologist.

In his turn the Dean of the Faculty of History and Law Mr. Edgar Hovhannisyan highlighted the role of public lectures mentioning the following, “The hearings give an opportunity to receive additional information on current issues from external sources such as foreign and Armenian specialists, as well as to express opinions, organize discussions, develop public awareness and a broad outlook among students.”
